Good article, well written. I’m surprised that so many people are trying to make remote work “right” or “wrong”. As you suggest, it’s not a matter or right or wrong, but a matter of management capability. There are times that being physically together speeds up projects and solidifies teams. But a manager’s inability or unwillingness to get results in a virtual environment is simply a weakness of that manager, and should be treated as such. I am seeing people now who are still unable and unwilling to communicate with a virtual team. There will always be virtual situations, if not with your team with a team you work with or even a person who can’t be onsite that day. We have to move from trying to convince people of which is better and help managers be more successful regardless of the situation. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
