This is an excellent and well-stated point. It's easy to tell people what to do, so unfortunately training often ends there. But helping someone learn how to do things is often much more difficult and so neglected. I've never seen a leader fail because they didn't know what to do. It's the people side - communicating, caring, and energizing that drives failures.
