This is one of the biggest and most painful mistakes I hear people make, consistently. It's natural to feel some empathy, but this is your decision. You may be inconvenienced, but it negatively impacts the other person's entire life, financially and emotionally. Look out for phrases like "I'm not happy about this either" or "this is hard for me too". Don't make it about you.
